My experience using blogs

In my opinion using blogs its very useful, it isn’t hard at all, because you only have to write about things you know or your feelings, opinions or toughs about a subject. Also is a good way to improve your English, since the beginning of the year I’m into doing blogs, I think that my English has developed a lot, also my vocabulary.

I don´t know if there are another program where it’s more easy, or amusing to express ourselves in English, but if there are in the future it would be interesting to practice English by using them. There are a lot of tools that may help. But the fact that we’re using technology for learning English seems to me fascinating and entertaining, it doesn’t take a lot of your time and all of us know how to use it

I think that most of the topics that we wrote where interesting, but there’s something I would correct, I think that we didn’t wrote a lot of things about architecture by itself, and it’s very important for us to develop ourselves in that subject. Like writing about our favorite kind of architecture, our favorite architect, building, city and topics like that.

Changes to my study program

I don’t know how many changes I would do, because just this year architecture in the Universidad de Chile changed his program. The new program, in my opinion, it’s more interesting, there are less math, science and stuff, but there are more urbanism and specialized chosen subjects, also, the career least less and there are more free time.

Despite that I think that this year the schedules were very well adjusted, I think that the career still being too long, I mean, compared with the same career but in others universities, from other countries, like in Europe, where architecture last like  4 years.

I think that the infrastructure of this university isn’t very good. The university have problems with cleaning it, there aren’t enough workers to do all that job. There are a good system of providing tool for the students in “El Hoyo”, but what this faculty needs it’s a nursing, Here the people work every day, but, What would happen if there´s an accident? This place should be prepared for this kind of problems.

Now, talking about technology, I don’t know how prepared is this university. I know that there’s a lot of computers, a laser printer, normal printers and a few plotters, also a projector in most of the classrooms. I would set more and better printers and plotters. I know that it isn’t cheap, but is required in this career.

I think that the teaching methods are very demanding and tough, but I wouldn’t change it, because, for years it has been the way to teach architecture, I don’t know if a change would be good.

Someone i would like to meet

I think that’s is hard to decide who I would like to meet, if it’s a musician, an athlete, a politician, an artist or an architect, not only because I think that I can have an interesting conversation, also because I would like to recipe new thoughts and new knowledge .

In my opinion, and trespecting to the polic world, I would like to have met Salvador Allende, this is the politician that I most admire, He has a very wise ethics, and for me he is a symbol of perseverance, strength, and loyalty, one of the politicians who gave the most to people, like health and education. I would like to know and learn a lot about his point of view.

Now, talking with respect about architecture, I would like to meet the Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, He is also the winner of the last Pritzker, that’s is compared with the Nobel prizes of architecture. I would like to talk not only about his architectonic style, also I would like to learn a lot about his way of seeing the social housing, is one of the subjects that are more interesting for me, also is one of the subjects that I want to work on in the future

I think that a lot of the people that I admire, the topics  I would to talk with them are about social matters, andget to know their points of view, not only of their way to see social things, also life.

Postgrade studies

I think that postgrade studies are important for the professional’s career, in my case I think that arquitecture it’s a very wide career, so I would like to have a more specific knowledge of any subject.

The subjects that are more interesting for me are: patrimony, social housing and urbanism. In these studies I would like to travel to Italy for patrimony, and travel to England for social housing and urbanism. But If I can’t have the possibilities to study in Europe I would like to study in Universidad de Chile or in Universidad Catolica.

I would like to take part time courses, so I would have time and I could do different activities, like sport, traveling and reading. Also, if I study in Europe I could travel all through it, it’s easy and it doesn’t take all your time.

I like patrimony because I think that it’s important to preserve and know our historical architectural monuments, and I would like to be part of it. I also would like social housing and urbanism, because I think that these subjects are important to make a bigger cities and better societies, and that’s what Chile needs

My favorite music band!

It would be hard to choose my favorite band or singer, but thinking on Latino American music, I would choose the Chilean band Sondelvalle.

I met this group like 3 years ago, when this group has barely 2 or 3 music videos on youtube, it was like love at first view.

This group has an amazing authenticity, until this day I haven’t heard another band whit a similar style. Sondelvalle define themselves like “Rap Guachaca y Cumbia Reflexiva”, which define their rhythm and the deep, almost philosophical, of their lyrics. Guachaca it’s a Chilean slang, which makes reference to something vulgar.

Sadly, over the years I know Sondelvalle I have never seen a concert of this band. Although they do a lots of concerts in Santiago, I have not had the chance of going to them, and this is because I have a lot of work to do, also I’ve haven’t had the enough money. However, I’ve the hope of do it soon, because they announced a new album, with another bands and artist invited, I would die for a ticket.

My favorite song of Sondelvalle is “Quinto Mandamiento”, it’s a commandment of the bible, which says “you will not kill”. The song talk about the feelings caused by infidelity.

Bad luck Juaco

Everything started in the last Saturday, my brother’s birthday. We wanted to do something, so we invited some friends to our house in Rancagua and then we would left to the disco and have a good time, but maybe I drank too much, so I don’t remember anything of what happened in the disco.

My memory is back the Friday at 2 p.m. in my bed, something was left. Sadly, it was my cellphone. It only lasted 3 months. My parents aren’t going to buy me a new one.

Then, in the Monday morning I had thousands of important things to do, but, by my fault, I woke up at midday, I also missed classes. At 15 o’clock I went to workshop, thanks god I could leave the class earlier, so I went straight to the hospital, to make a blood donation as fast as possible so then I could finish my job for the workshop the next day, but after the donation I felt terrible, with nauseas and stuff. I couldn’t work until 22 o’clock.so I had to stay up all night long.

Although I finished the job, I still have to fix my problem with the phone number, life sucks.

A place I would like to visit

First of all, I prefer to meet the nature around us before the big constructions and culture from other countries. I think that it’s important to know what we have in Chile, to create an identity.
Chile it’s a long country, located in South America, divided into 15 regions, every one different from each other, in the north we have hot regions, with deserts and beautiful landscapes, and in the south, rainy regions, full of green areas.
I already know part of the north of Chile, so I would like to appreciate the beauty of the south, maybe a place I would like to visit is the Torres Del Paine. According to National Geographic, this place is the 5th most beautiful place on earth, also it’s the 8th wonder of the world.
I think it could be even good for health, to breath fresh new air, and do some trekking, going for a walk around those green areas for a long time and connect myself with the nature.
